The Crowne Plaza in Prague, formerly known as the Hotel Druzba and
Hotel Cedok is the finest example of Stalinist 'wedding cake' architecture in east europe.
Designed and built in 1952 -4 on the commision of the Defense Ministry it served as a communist party congress venue. Today it is one of the finest hotels in the Czech capitol.
As George Orwell said, ' All animals are equal but some are more equal than others.'
